Go out from here with a pocket full of free gifts to give to those you meet.
Give freely your love and concern as a token of the greater love of God.
Give freely your time and effort as a token of the sacrifice of Jesus.
Give freely your help and friendship as a token of the upholding Spirit
And may all you give and all you do cause others to seek the true gift of the God who blesses without end.
Amen
God loves us to talk to him, and it's often easiest to do this in prayer - whether it's saying "Thank You" for something, saying "Sorry", or even just to say "I Love You".
You can find below the prayer which Jesus taught us:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Do not bring us to the time of trial but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
The Covenant Prayer
I am no longer my own but yours. Your will, not mine, be done in all things,
wherever you may place me,
in all that I do
and in all that I may endure;
when there is work for me
and when there is none;
when I am troubled
and when I am at peace. Your will be done when I am valued
and when I am disregarded;
when I find fulfilment
and when it is lacking;
when I have all things,
and when I have nothing.
I willingly offer
all I have and am to serve you, as and where you choose.
Glorious and blessèd God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours.
May it be so for ever.
Let this covenant now made on earth
be fulfilled in heaven. Amen.
Here are some of the prayers members of the congregation would like to share with you:
Prayer chosen by Paddy McQuaid when he was received into membership
Lord Jesus, may Your Holy Spirit come into our hearts and minds this Pentecost
that we may be able to go forth from this place, strengthened by your Power to serve you better day by day so that all around us may come to know the love that we share today.
Prayer by Ignatius Loyola
Teach us, 0 Lord God, to serve Thee as Thou deservest, to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will
Prayer of St. Francis ofAssisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
0 Divine Master, grant that I may
Not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console.
To be understood, as to understand.
To be loved, as to love.
For
It is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
It is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life,
Amen.
Lord of life and love, may I live in the promise that you know me better than I know myself.
When I see nothing but darkness I long for your light.
As I walk through the darkness hold me, for the darkness is not dark to you.
I pray for the light of your healing presence on my life.
May I walk in your light as I come to you, just as I am.
Come
Jesus says, Come to me.
Come with your heavy load.
Come with your tiredness.
Come with your guilt.
Come with your regrets.
Come with your hurts, your bruises and your pain.
Come close to me.
Feel my embrace, my breath upon your life.
Come as you are now.
Allow my heart to beat with you.
Come, see my outstretched arms.
Come, end my waiting.

Dear Lord,
I just want to thank you for the way you have watched over me throughout my life.I thank you for the Sunday school teachers who first taught me about You, also the morning assemblies at school when each day started with a hymn, a prayer and a short bible reading.Looking back I can see how much you have guided me and protected me.I thank you for your Holy Spirit who has gently led me to places and people to receive help, help I didn’t know I needed.What a difference it has made to me when you have removed the blockages which were holding me back.Thank you Lord.Amen.
Go into the world: dance, laugh, sing and create.
Go into the world: risk, explore, discover and love.
Go into the world: believe, hope, struggle and remember.
Go with the assurance of God’s love.
Thanks be to God.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for my life and my self and keeping me well.Amen.
God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.
I'm asking You God, to give me what You have left.
Give me those things which others never ask of You.
I don't ask You for rest, or tranquility.
Not that of the spirit, the body, or the mind.
I don't ask You for wealth, or success, or even health.
All those things are asked of You so much Lord,
that you can't have any left to give.
Give me instead Lord what You have left.
Give me what others don't want.
I want uncertainty and doubt.
I want torment and battle.
And I ask that You give them to me now and forever Lord,
so I can be sure to always have them,
because I won't always have the strength to ask again.
But give me also the courage, the energy,
and the spirit to face them.
I ask You these things Lord,
because I can't ask them of myself.
Written by Lieutenant A. Zirnheld, circa 1942 Translated from the original French by Robert Petersen
Dear God, please give me the wisdom to know what is right and both the courage and strength to do it.
Prayers for a new day
This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm ll8 v.24)
Today is your new gift to me, Lord;
I thank you for it.
Today may have its special difficulties;
I will face them with a brave heart.
Today will never come again;
I pray for grace to make the best use of it
Amen
Prayers when we are uncertain
God, I'm afraid and uncertain; I don't know what to do for the best; I don't want to be selfish, but I need your help. Please help me to solve my problems, at least try to understand them. Give me the light by which to see more clearly. Help me to put my trust in you, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lord, I want to love you, yet I'm not sure. I want to trust you, yet I'm afraid of being taken in. I know I need you, yet I'm ashamed of the need. I want to pray, yet I'm afraid of being a hypocrite. I need my independence, yet I fear to be alone. I want to belong. Take me .Lord, and draw me deeper into you.
O Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief.
Lord if you are here, you do understand don't you? Give me what I need with the freedom to choose. Help me work it out my own way, but don't let me go. Let me understand myself, so that I don't despair. Come unto me, O Lord - hear my cry. Lighten my darkness - but don't dazzle me. Help me to see what I need to do and give me the strength to do it.
O Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief.
Give me courage ,Lord, to let go past hurts and present fears.
I leave my past to your mercy, and my present to your grace.
Give me strength to face the future with your help.
When I feel afraid, Lord, unable to let go,
Help me to gaze on you with trust.
Help me to love you and not to fear you.
Let me know that you are there for me.
Amen
A prayer for all the people we care about:
God bless those who brought me into the world, and those who have helped me grow up; God bless my family and friends those I share my life with; those I work and relax with, and all who wish me well. I entrust myself, those whom I love and those whom I find difficult to love into your hands, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
