St. John's Methodist Church has links with various other churches, both within the Circuit and District, but also further afield. Within the Circuit we have 12 churches, in addition to The Martins - a Methodist Home for the Aged in Bury St. Edmunds, for which we also have chaplaincy responsibility.
Thanks to the years of work done by one of our supernumerary ministers, Rev. Alan Stephens, and his late wife Joan, we also have strong ties to a church and school founded in Durgapur, India.
Glemsford is a large village with a growing Methodist Church in its centre. It has recently renovated its ancillary rooms with the help of grants from the Methodist Circuit and District, Suffolk County Council, and the Suffolk Environmental Trust. It now has a useful and up-to-date hall, kitchen and toilet facilities, in addition to a ramp to allow access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Deacon Hilary Smith has moved into the village to build links with the local community and to help the church members find a vision forwards working closely with our Anglican friends.
At present the weekly service is held on Sundays at 6.30pm.
Bradfield Methodist Church is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Stanningfield. The members work hard to be Christ's disciples, and frequently hold events to raise money for charity. They also are very caring for one another.
Their warm and friendly community welcomes anyone to join their weekly service at 11am every Sunday. They also hold a monthly house group.
