Welcome to St John’s Methodist Church Sudbury.

St John’s invites you to share the good news of God’s love in Christ. We welcome everyone and set out to give service to the community near and far.

St John’s Methodist Church consists of a wide range of people, from all ages and different backgrounds. We are always pleased to meet new friends, so whoever you are you are assured a very warm welcome.

We know that for many, going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries heres a quick summary of what you can expect at our Church.

When you attend a Sunday morning service, you’ll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church. The service includes hymns, bible readings and a talk to help us understand what is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives.

We meet together weekly on Sunday mornings from 10.30 -11.30 to worship, share fellowship, and to learn more about faith and its relevance to the pressures of today’s world.  We share Holy Communion once a month. On the second Sunday of the month we meet for All Age Worship from10.30am-11.30am. This is a cafe-style service. Refreshments are available throughout the service and worship is always suitable for all ages, including children.

After each service all are invited to socialise over tea, coffee and biscuits.

We are part of the world wide Methodist Church, and are in the Bury St Edmunds Circuit in East Anglia.

Our minister is Rev Ruth Ridge  Ruth

We are pleased to be a Fairtrade Church, supporting the work of the Fairtrade Foundation to make trade fairer for all, so that producers can earn secure and sustainable livelihoods. We use Fairtrade products including tea, coffee, and sugar on our church premises.

We have earned the Eco Church silver award.

St John’s also takes an active part in Churches Together in Sudbury and District.

Through Messy Church we aim to help people have fun in a church context and be creative together. We hope to help everyone to feel that they belong in church and we aim to introduce Jesus to families through hospitality, friendship, stories and worship.
